About SeniorsAloud

SeniorsAloud began on the internet in May 2008 as a blog with postings of articles and videos that would appeal to older adults aged 50 and above. Today it has evolved into a go-to site for seniors seeking information, inspiration, or connection with other seniors.

Transitioning from one stage of life to the next can be quite challenging, more so for seniors entering semi- or full-time retirement. The SeniorsAloud website, along with its Facebook page, aims to provide a platform where older adults can share their life experiences and serve as a source of inspiration and support for others on their journey through retirement years.

1. Is SeniorsAloud membership open to anyone?

Membership is open to Malaysians aged 60 and above, including those residing abroad, and also to PRs and those under MM2H programme.

2. How do I apply for membership?

Send a whatsapp message to either Kamil (019-6641951) or Lily (012-3068291) and request for the registration form.

3. Any follow-up after I have submitted my membership application form?

Do not wait for confirmation or anyone from SA to contact you. You need to follow up by sending a whatsapp message to either Kamil or Lily stating that you would like to join SeniorsAloud activity groups. A template will be sent to you to fill in plus a diagram showing all the main activity groups in SeniorsAloud. You may select your activity groups from the diagram. The admins of the groups you have selected will add you to the groups.

4. Is there any membership fee?

No, membership is free.

5. Is membership lifelong?

You have the option to remain a member for life, or opt to exit anytime.

6. Is it mandatory to attend meetings and activities upon joining SeniorsAloud?

No, attendance at meetings and activities is voluntary. However, if a member has remained inactive since joining, he is at risk of being removed.

7. Are members required to wear a SeniorsAloud uniform for events and activities?

Members are required to purchase and wear an SA membership badge for SA events and activities. There is no official SA t-shirt.

8. Are SA events and activities open to non-SA members, for example, spouse, friends?

Priority is always given to members first. If slots are still available, non-SA members may be invited. We strongly recommend that couples join SA together so that they can enjoy trips and events together.
